It is there when you record and then the next day it may or may not be there. I will be researching what is occuring during the nightly EPG update that is impacting the link between the standard GBPVR EPG data and the extended zaptools data.

This source of this issue has been identified. It comes from the current version of ZapImport overlaying the zapdb.mdb.file on a nightly basis without holding any information it has for shows that have been recorded by gbpvr.

An updated and streamlined ZapTools will be uploaded in the very near future which will contain the fix for this problem.

You will simply need to unzip the 3 files in ZapTools to the gbpvr directory (overlaying the ones you currently have installed) and from that point forward your record shows will maintain their extended ZapTools data. This new version also allows you to get rid of the zapcleandb.mdb file since the zapinterface.dll now supports compressing the zapdb.mdb file within code so you can delete the zapcleandb.mdb file from your gbpvr directory.

If you do not have zaptools installed simply untistall the 3 files to your gbpvr directory and either update or create a PostUpdateEPG.bat file with a command line of:

zapimport userid password >zapimport.log

where userid and password are your credentilas for Zap2it. The >zapimport.log will casue the output messages from the zapimport process to be written to that log file.....if you don't want a log file just do not have anythig after the password in the command line.

I'll put another post here when the wiki is updated with the new ZapTools client.

How about being able to enter a note, a name or initials for example, when someone schedules a recording? The kids schedule stuff and it just suddenly shows up in the record list. If we had a small field for a name or initials you'd know who scheduled something.

As there's no space to store that sort of stuff in the DB you're looking at a DB change. Unfortunatly that affects the rest of the app :-(

Also are your kids ever going to enter their own initials? Are they going to remember to? Would you want a default? per browser? (i.e. store it in cookies). Or go for a full blown multi loginname and password approach.

Would it be possible for the enhanced web admin interface to be able to display the remaining recording disk space available?

The reason I ask is that I'm away from home for a few weeks and have been logging into my home gbpvr installation to check recordings and schedule new ones. However I do not have a real idea on the status of available recording disk space, and could run out. This may be a useful feature.

Should be fairly easy to do. Maybe add a new tab on the right called "Info" or "Statistics". What other number would be usefull? I'm thinking:
- Disk space on recording drive
- Disk space on livetv buffer drive
- Number of recordings scheduled (maybe by type too, e.g. manual, season, etc)
- What's currently is use (like the tray application shows)

I just installed the enhanced web admin. I find it very nice. I would like a tools/info section also. It would come in handy. When I was gone for 9 days, I was able to remote desktop into my home machine each day, so it wan't too bad.

These all sound good normanr....I am assuming you would have the "what's currently in use" show a status for each tunner?

For disk space how about total space available, total used, total free and percentage free and full to go with the actual used/free space. This would provide raw numbers as well as a quick understanding of utilization via the percentages.

Another idea would be estimated recording time left based on the user checking or selcting thier standaard recording setting (i.e. Default, Medium, High, etc.). You can make rough estimates of hours per MB and provide an estimate of recording space left on drive. For example....I always record at High and looking at the 60 or so shows I have recorded it appears that 2.7 MB (rounded up from an average of 2.67MB) is used for each hour recorded.

To build on the above there could also be a space availble less already scheduled recordings. By having this number available you have a clear picture of what you have left including what is scheduled to record but has not yet recorded. This could be important (as I have personally found out) when you think you have enough space but you really don't because you forgot to factor in the pending recordings.

That's it for now. Big Grin

If I think of anything else I'll post it later. Smile
