I have ordered an F-series plasma and was just wondering how well it would work. Sounds like it might have some issues. What are the limitations in skipping for in-progress recordings on the H model?

I rarely use my Samsung H-model TV so I can't really give you a detailed answer but this is what I know for sure about in-progress recordings.
The reported duration time is wrong.
Skipping is not very accurate

The F model can work quite well playing and seeking in already made recordings and Live TV (pause/play no seeking)
The E-models (Y2012) seem to have the best suitable player for recorded TV but UI is slow.

Your test file won't play on either of my Samsung devices (UE22H5615 and BD-F6500).
Since it won't play even using dlna I don't think the problem is in my app, but the Samsung player.

It plays well on my LG TV.
Sorry, but I have no idea why it isn't playing on Samsung – maybe some copy protection or unsupported video/audio format.

No, not really. Some api's may be the same but my app is all about sending keycodes and displaying an UI image generated on the server.
Reven's app is a full html5 app where what you see on screen is built using html, css and javascript.

My app is a cousin to mvallevands X-newa web client.
Your error are occurring server side and I'm sorry to say that I have no idea what's wrong.
My suggestion is to set up x-newa web client and see if the it behaves the same.

Hmm. OK I'll try setting up x-newa and will give it a go. I'm on NPVR 3.2.9 bTW.

Perhaps it is the way the file is presented to the TV. I have had devices that need the extension switched from .TS to .MPG to work correctly or visa versa. I do know it streams just fine from my SiliconDust Prime over UPNP.

Not sure if this has been requested before but REven's app had a great feature on the TV guide where there was a shortcut key for starting off a quick recording on the currently selected TV programme. Would this be feasible with your app?

Yes, I think so. Hopefully all I need to do is to map ctrl-k to a remote button.
I'll put it on my todo-list.

I just bought a Samsung bd-H5900 thinking I could use this app but I don't see a smart features in settings, did I buy the wrong kind of player? It does have apps and wifi.

Does anybody know if this will work with this model with the opera app market. I need to return it if it won't work and try to find one that will.

My guess is you won't be able to install my app since this model does not have Smart-hub.
