First off I want to say thanks for providing this great software and a place like this to get help with it. I have been running Nextpvr and gbpvr before that for years on an old P4 with a Wintv card for years and it has always worked well for me tuning analog cable to my tablets and htpc via XBMC. Well I have switched to thin clients as my main htpc's and am using one as the NextPVR server now as well. It has a mini pci-e slot in it so I bought a Avermedia A326 mini pci-e tuner card and installed it no problem. I tried testing out the serverwmc program I have read about and it worked but was painfully slow and I could not RDP into the thin client with it running so I went back to NextPVR like I should have done to start with. Well I have everything setup but NextPVR can not find the analog tuner for this card. I followed the steps listed here and I still can not get the analog tuner to come up in the devices list. I know I probably did something wrong along the way so I have come here to ask for help. Also it looks like the ATSC tuner is picking up a ton of channels that are just a black screen? I can tune my local stations in HD that my cable companies puts on the regular cable feed just fine with XBMC so I know NextPVR is working. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Did you add the softpvr components? I'm guessing not, so it doesn't even look for analog devices.

Honestly I did not even know that existed. I was running a really old build of NextPVR on the old setup and it just found them when I installed it. Also I don't have a Hauppauge card in this setup will that mater when I install the software from them? I will go and do that and hopefully that will fix my problem. Do you have any idea what all of these black ATSC channels are it found?

I can't really provide you any advice on that one. I've got Hauppauge cards here, so I've just installed WinTV to get these. I know others have managed to extract the files they needed and register them. I'm sure you'll find other posts describing the steps they went through.

Hard to guess on this one. It might be the decoders you're using. Maybe try doing a recording on one of these channels, then try playing it another player like VLC, to see if you get a picture.

Yea I just got done reading this thread about it and I am going to remote in and attempt it. I seem to remember doing this last time as well as I had to email Hauppauge and give them the serial number of my old card and they emailed me a link to download the wintv software. I just tried to install using the software from that old link but like I figured it would it is telling me I don't have a Hauppauge card installed. So I am going to go ahead and try to run that .bat file and see what happens.

Well I just went and ran that .bat file and it does scan for analog tuners now but still does not find it? Do you have any suggestions on where I should go from here? I am thinking about deleting NPVR and reinstalling it and seeing if that helps?

Visit the Settings->Devices screen, then attach the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

Ok here are the last two logs I could find. I did delete NPVR and reinstall but it still didn't help anything. Sad I really do appreciate you trying to help.

Looks like it can see the device, but it's ignoring it because it can find a matching string. Does your AnalogDevices.xml still have that definition now that you've reinstalled?

I actually deleted it before I reinstalled to see if by some chance it was messing it up as I don't know if I added it correctly. Here is a copy of my current AnalogDevices.xml. I had never added something like that to a XML file so I was kind of worried I had messed it up.
