Good day to all:

Just getting my feet wet with NextPVR having been a long time Beyond TV user. The switch to Qam and M-cards is forcing me to move on and this program looks intriguing... if I can just get it to run Smile

Running on Windows 7 Pro. Using a Hauppauge DRC-2650 dual tuner box with M-Card from the cable company. Channels come up find using either Media Center or Hauppauge WinTV 8 so I know the box/card combo is working.

When I try to run PVR no channels show up. Under the Device tab all I see is IPTV Device. No indication it is seeing the DCR-2650 at all. I have the DirectX runtime installed as well as all other software mentioned in the initial support post.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

To get the device to show up you need to install the HDHomeRun software from http://www.silicondust.com/support/downloads/. The DCR-2650 device is a rebranded HDHomeRun.

Well, that's interesting. Did not know they were the same product. Who's the one making it, I wonder?

OK. At first it said it did not see any device attached but opening PVR and the two tuners are showing up.

Thanks!

I'd say designed by SiliconDust. I'm not actually sure who manufactured it (most likely some other thirdparty company in China/Taiwan). It's slightly different from the SiliconDust branded devices, due to the USB-network bridge.

Quote:Is it likely the Homerun software will even "see" the Hauppauge unit?
From memory the HDHomeRun software wont show the Hauppauge device, but as long as your machine now has "C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config.exe", then you should be good to go.

Appears it is all set. Both tuners now showing some 47 channels each.

Have another question but will post as a new thread.

Thanks!

Yikes. Guess I spoke to too soon. Not out of the woods yet.

When I went to Live TV got the error "Live TV buffer does not exist c:\Temp"... and then line cut off.
Rebooted and still the same error.

Created a folder "c:\Temp" and that error went away but still no picture/sound. All channels show up for both tuners.

Also, the home screen dialog has kind of stepped (low rez) lettering and not the smooth edges as like a few days ago.
Can having all these drivers... Hauppauge, Windows Media, HDHomeRun be causing issues for NextPVR?

Suggestions?

Do you have audio/video decoders set on your Settings->Decoders screen? In your type of setup you'd need: MPEG2 video decoder, AC3 audio decoder and MPEG1 audio decoder.

If you have got decoders set, when you try to start live tv, does a live tv buffer file get created in your live tv buffer directory (sounds like it's c:\temp), and does the file stay at zero bytes or grow? If it stays at zero bytes, you'll probably need to add firewall exceptions for Nrecord.exe/ndigitalhost.exe. (these devices are virtual network devices, using internal USB->Network hub)

Can you post a screenshot, and your npvr.log?

OK. There are several options for the decoders. These are now working. Any reason to adjust them?

Great. No, if they're working, then you don't need to change them.

Getting there. Issue now is no channels on the TV Guide. All "no show details".

Also, is there a way to name manual recordings. Right now it's Default for all of them. Arrows to the right do not work.
