Hello, please help. My TV Guide is not updating shows. I have been using an xml batch file to update the EPG for a few years. I have never had an issue. The batch file is still updating but NPVR is not pulling it in. I have even gone as far as manually updating and my guide is still empty. Is there an issue or an alternative? Please help.

Hit the 'Update EPG' button, then zip and post the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

My guess is there is something invalid in your xmltv file, like unescaped special characters. We should be able to tell from the log.

I can see it is successfully processing your xmltv file, and pulling in the listings from the two channels you have mapped to your xmltv file:
Quote:2015-04-17 21:35:57.227 [DEBUG][12] Will process xmltv file: C:\Users\Ifetayo\Videos\PVR\mc2xml\xmltv.xml
2015-04-17 21:35:57.230 [DEBUG][12] Loading XMLTV from: C:\Users\Ifetayo\Videos\PVR\mc2xml\xmltv.xml
2015-04-17 21:35:57.880 [DEBUG][11] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: update procedure starting.
2015-04-17 21:35:57.889 [DEBUG][11] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: finished updating recording schedule, no changes detected.
2015-04-17 21:35:58.783 [DEBUG][12] channelEventLists.Count=2
2015-04-17 21:35:58.783 [INFO][12] -channel: '19-2 - KCPT-2 ' has 474 listings
2015-04-17 21:35:58.783 [INFO][12] -channel: '19-3 - KCPT-3' has 664 listings

So, it's pulled in 474 listings for KCPT-2, and 664 listings for KCPT-3.

Is this what you're expecting, or something different?

I did notice that since you've put the xmltv file in "C:\Users\Ifetayo\", you may find it can't read this file in the automated overnight EPG update, since the recording service runs as a system account, and probably wont have access to this directory.

Thanks for your quick response. No, it should be pulling in listings from 20 or so channels... Can you tell why only those 2? Also, where does the xml file need to be located?

Either you only have two channels mapped to your xmltv file, or the IDs of the channels in your xmltv file has changed since the original xmltv file you used to do the mapping.

If you can't work it out, and want to supply your npvr.db3 and .xml file, I can take a look and tell you exactly.

You can put it anywhere you want, but it needs to be a directory where the local system account is allowed to read. At the simplest, you could create a c:\epg directory or something like that.

What are you using to generate your xml file? If it is coming from Schedules Direct, you might want to go ahead and switch to using NPVR's built-in support for that. I made that switch a few months ago.

As for why the IDs in the xml file might have changed: Are you possibly using UltraXMLTV? Previously when I was using it, I found that it was generating its own IDs, and if the channel lineup from the source changed, UltraXMLTV would change the IDs which caused me to have to remap all of the channels in NPVR.

I am using something called mc2xml... It was what was recommended when I installed this program. Is there something better? With this program I have to update it manually every 3 or 4 days or so. I would love something that would generate automatically...

Also where would I find the npvr.db3? Is it with the log files I posted earlier?
