Recording Service throwing an error

I'm having trouble getting NPVR to install/run on my Windows 7 x64 machine.

It installs fine (no errors) whether as an Administrator or just double clicking the installer file. I can then also open NPVR and enter the setup and add channels and tv guide listings to them, but when I try and open a live TV stream I get an error: "Unable to communicate with recording service"

NTray.exe opens after a reboot and I can restart the recording service but it then errors out with a window stating: Unable to start service.... Service NPVR Service was not found on computer"..."The specified service does not exist as an installed service"

I've tried a number of uninstalls (including removing all the files and registry values but nothing seems to work.

I tried to look at the logs on Dropbox but lost interest when it didn't go well.

Please use Windows Explorer Send To Compressed Folder, and then click forum Advanced button and then the Paperclip to attach the logs to a forum post. Thanks.

Do you still get the same error if you try with the Windows Firewall turned off?

His problem is that the recording service does not install. Usually this is fixed by right-clicking the installer and selecting "Run as Administrator" but I'm under the impression that he has tried this. @Disrespective, does your account have administrator privileges? Is UAC turned off?

Apologies. I really need to pay more attention.

Try uninstall NextPVR, start a command prompt (run as administrator), sc delete "NPVR Recording Service", then re-install NextPVR.

Hi, yes my account has full admin privileges and I've installed as admin anyway each time. The firewall is off but as mentioned it doesn't seem to be the issue here. I've tried differing the permissions on the install locations to no effect.

Looking at the installation screen info it says it's installed the service and shortly after it completes the install with no errors.

I have the same Problem :mad::mad::mad: on a new installed Windows 8.1 PC.

I think the NRecord.exe is missing an then the Service was not installed but the installer say, all is OK.

@Sub, seems there may be a problem with the installer....

Edit: What command is required to install the service manually?
