No video or audio on playback after upgrade

ok, this is weird, I am 100% certain that I read the above post where Handy.Man posted the sample recording at least a full day ago if not more (I was relieved that someone had posted a sample, since I kept not doing it)... but now it's showing as a new post just over 3 hours old? I am 100% certain also that I have not read the forums any time in the last 6 hours at least so there's no possibility that I read the post earlier tonight and just thought it was longer ago. How does that happen? Am I going nuts?

I think you may have been caught in a timeloop. I have those experiences too from time to time

I had downloaded it and taken a look, but I haven't formed an opinion yet.

There is definitely something odd about the file. I think it's PAT is incorrect, but I'm not entirely sure. Do all recordings on this particular channel end up the same? If so, I've got some next steps we can try. I'm wondering whether it's to do with this channel using a couple of special PID numbers that mean other things in DVB land.

No on this channel, most recordings are normal, they play fine.

This behaviour doesn't happen often. That is the only one in 3 days.

Maybe the file is too short at 20 sec, I tested another sample of 2m37s from the same recording, both are black, no sound and return to NextPVR in a few seconds as I copied the sample to the client disc.

It just happenned again on another 720P channel, it is presently recording on ATI BDA Digital Tuner 1
The two other tuners are Hauppauge WinTV-7a64 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner

The Rick Mercer Report was recorded on the Hauppauge Tuner

I've seen this now also, last night a recording that is black screen with audio to start but picture comes when you skip. I have also been experiencing a possibly related issue on the PCH since upgrading to 3.4.8, with playback on PCH skipping sound intermittently. I am also seeing very high disk activity and suspected that but don't know if it's NextPVR related. Comskip has also seemed unreliable since the upgrade.
