I'm on 64bit Windows 8.1, so it's not directly related to the version of Windows.

I could never get this green button to fire up NextPVR either even on Windows 7 64 bit. I tried all those settings but the green button just opens the Windows Media Center instead. All the other buttons work fine in NextPVR so a 98% working percentage without any drivers, config, etc was a plus for us.

I'm on Win 8.1 64 bit, and it works here.

I've attached an updated ntray.exe, which will produce an ntray.log. They key magic lines are that appear in the log when I press the Windows button are:

Quote:2015-05-31 19:39:34.931 [DEBUG][1] raw message: D
2015-05-31 19:39:34.931 [DEBUG][1] GreenButton...

Can you check what you get in the log when you press the button? It's possible I need to handle some slightly different message on your setup.

Not getting anything other than the raw messages until after NPVR is started There should be 3 Green Button Pushes in the above.

Did you get one of these A4 messages each time you pressed the button, or nothing (and these A4's are just appearing by themselves)?

They appear without key presses and are different every time the recording service is started F3. 23, etc.
The remote is a Genuine Microsoft MCE remote from about 7-8 years ago when the five packs were being split and sold on fleebay.

A bit of research has found that 8.1 and MCE remote is a bit random in how it works - deleting driver, repluging sometimes cures it - allegedly. I'll investigate later in the week when I have some free time.

Sounds like my remote. For whatever reason though, it sounds like your one isn't sending notifications of the green Windows button. I'm not sure why it'd be different for you though.

I think it's probably something wrong in the ReportMappingTable in the registry at

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da"

Possibly due to the MCE receiver already being plugged in when I installed Win 8.1 64bit

Any chance you could post the complete Registry Key - 745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da - So that I can compare / try it on my machine?
