The Freesat function people seem to be having problems with is the factory reset install which relies on receiving Postcode data from the Freesat transponder to setup the correct regional variation for your area. I have not see a satisfactory explanation why if there are problems receiving postcode data why the boxes are not having EPG problems. It has been said that there is a backup low speed EPG broadcast not from the problem satellite but they may be getting confused with "Now & Next". On my Freesat box the "Freesat Info" menu item is now not working and the signal strength is much lower than most channels but is something I have not used for a long time! The channels still on the problem Eutelsat 28A are mostly minor ones most not on Freesat so there should be no problems receiving the main Freesat channels.

yeah, just done a complete return and i'm not getting any 'freesat (uk)' epg data
i'm guessing they changed the frequency

I got FreeSat EPG update last night so it was working for me. That said, I've noticed a number of the non mainstream channels EPG are missing (e.g. CBS Action).

Oh and the Astra 2G satellite isn't due to reach it final position (i.e. ready for service position) until late tomorrow.

hmm my nightly update returned nothing

i'm not getting anything for freesat at all, is there a way to double check its using the correct frequency?

Have you checked your signal strength/quality from the Freesat Transponder? The frequency is 11428MHz but my Freesat box tunes to 11427MHZ. I was getting 40% quality on the Freesat transponder but all the Astra transponders were 100%. By tweaking the dish have got it to 70-80%.

The Freesat Information Service is back working today and hasn't worked for a very long time.

I now have a fully populated EPG where previously after a page up/down it was only part populated and had to wait 10-20 seconds for it to fully populate. This perhaps suggests that previously I was previously getting the EPG data from somewhere other than the Freesat transponder??

hmm from what I can tell my system is not looking at the correct frequency, which therefore is not getting the correct epg

I have also done a reinstall of the 3.4.8 version and still the same.

Have a look in the config.xml file, I seem to remember the frequency is specified in there.

OOOps. Yes just checked mine and it's not in there. Thought I'd seen it in there when we originally sorted out the functionality.
Time for input from Sub I think.
