This is my first time installing NextPVR.
I downloaded it from here: "http://www.nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup_3_4_8.exe"
then ran as administrator on win7 pro, and here is what happened:

How did you tell setup to install to the D: drive?

I believe I was given the option to change where it installed, just like most installers.
And I typically install most things on my D: drive.

That error is likely saying that either that file is already on the machine and running (ie, file is in-use, so can't be overwritten), or you have some firewall/antivirus software that is actively stopping NextPVR's installer from writing to that directory.

That error dialog is pointing to C: drive not even in x86 so I think there is something confused in your setup.

That was someone else's post, which is why it says C: and mine says D:
But I had similar errors initially and I aborted the install, then ran as admin, and ended up with the error in my first post.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don't think it fully uninstalls since I can still see the windows service, and there are a few files that I can't delete in the install dir.
I imagine I'll have to boot to safe mode or something to completely remove it.
And don't think I'll be trying again unless someone can offer some solutions or recommendations , or maybe I'll just wait for another version.

NextPVR looks great, just wish I could use it.

Why can't you delete those files? NextPVR isn't setting any permissions. If you can't delete something, like .exe/.dll files, then it makes me thing you've got the application running? This would certainly give errors like above, where it couldn't write to files.
