The recording service runs under a different user account that NextPVR, and may not have the permissions it needs. As I suggested above, temporarily try it to a local hard driver rather than NAS. Also make sure to restart the recording service when changing this setting.

A temp file must be getting created.

I enabled "Debug Info" and started Live TV. This clearly shows a temp file in the correct directory.

Just try the local directory instead of NAS.

FYI, because the recording service runs as a different user account, it definitely wont know about drive mappings like "N:\". That mapping is only known by your user account. It's probably trying to create the file there, but failing.

I moved TEMP to a local drive and live TV is now working. How large will the file grow? I really don't want to run it locally, I'd prefer to have it on a mapped network drive. If its going to grow to large, I'll have to put in another local drive, just for it.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

It'd grow as big as it needs for 30 minutes or so of whatever you're watching. ie, so depends on the bitrate of your source material.

You can run it network drive (although it's not recommended), by either changing the recording service to run as your user account (allowing it to see your drive mappings), or by changing your temp directory to a UNC path ie \\server\share

Thank you for your help.

Now that I have it running locally on my machine, I need to get it working on my Raspberry Pi 2/OpenElec using the NextPVR client. Can I post question here in this forum, or do I need to post questions in the OpenElec forum?

Thanks

Daryl

An hour (with several minutes padding) of HD MPEG2 video is about 6 GB here. Hopefully you have that much space available on your local drive. Smile

I'm not really going to be able to help answer any Raspberry Pi 2/OpenElec questions, but you can post the questions in our Kodi subforum, and hopefully someone will be able to help you out.
