rookbartley: It looks like you were trying to test recording over Remote Desktop. I doubt this will work, try testing locally. Also can you re-send the config logs from a session where you actually configured the card :-P
Hey, back again (I didn't get very far last time I was trying to get this to work!)
I've found however, that if in the config I set either of the video capture/preview options to 'capture' - the program (or recordertest) freezes. If I set them to 'VP' then I get a picture (in both recordertest/gbpvr - but no sound). However when in this mode if I try to timeshift (ctrl-q?) I just get a message along the lines of 'changing to time shift mode' which just lasts indefinately (the program doesn't crash though, I can exit from this).
I have an ATI all-in-wonder 8500dv. (and hopefully a week spare to play with this!)
Logs attached when video capture/preview set to 'VP'.
Can you send me the config logs from when you configured the device? Also if you can get a screenshot of your capture card using GrahpEdit, that would be great!
Points to ponder:
- You should really choose a tuning type, otherwise you won't be able to change channels.
- The optimal configuration has capture=capture, and preview=vp (i think)
- I noticed that there are two 'Video Renderer' devices, this implies that the one gb-pvr adds isn't being used. Try changing the Overlay/VMR7/VMR9 settings in gb-pvr to see if that makes any difference.
Also can you provide the logs (gbpvr and gbpvrrecordingservice) and screenshot of lastgraph from trying to record with Capture?
