mpeg2 decoder? win8.1 with hdhomerun

I have two MPEG2 decoders available and neither gives me TV video: ffdshow and LAV. I tried looking for another MPEG2 decoder for win8.1 but I'm new to decoders and not sure what's likely to work. I can get video with the HDHomeRun software, so somehow TV is available on my machine, but I'd like to use NextPVR for recording, if I can get it to work. Any help is greatly appreciated! Try going into the configuration settings of the decoders. Sometimes the "codecs" for MPEG2 installs disabled. If enabling doesn't work, look at the output section to see if something there needs to be changed... If not try the LAV codec to see what happens.
