Scanning for channels comes up empty

Which IR Blaster is best for what I'll need?

And since I will be ordering the IR Blaster, should I buy WinTV?

I have a DTA for this set up on the way. Right now there's no decrypter at the moment.
Also, now that I have SoftPVR installed I now have analog tuners options. From what I have done now what should be my next step. Or should I wait until the DTA is here to continue. I don't see any steps for SoftPVR or I would try that.

If you're going to connect up your existing DTA, then there is nothing to stop you with going ahead and setting it up. ie double click the device, and use the 'import' button to create your channels. If you don't have any DTA ready to hook up, you might as well wait until you have one.

I think that if you're going to control a DTA with it, you might need the learning capability of the 6021298.

Yes! I finally got some results (no DTA). Looks like the digital channels only. Can someone tell me if I need to check mark them or not before exiting this window? Also, is there setting to not have to login after a period of time (stay logged in)?

All the ones that are unticked are encrypted, so you wont be able to watch them anyway.

If you scroll down the list, you'll most likely find a small handful that are unencrypted (and ticked). These are the few that your cable company leaves in the clear for you to watch. ie, usually just the local channels.
