Hi All
I need some help getting some basic functionality going with a HDHR Prime. I recently upgraded to W10 on one system. I just want to be able to view some basic channels using my HDHR Prime as the tuner. So I installed the latest NPVR release and I have totally forgotten how to set it up for using that tuner. Do I still have to use a network tuner plugin? Or is there a native way to do it. The tuner does not show up in the tuner list in config.

Thanks!

If you install the HDHR software on the NPVR box the tuner will be present on Devices. After that, it's like most other tuners in that it is natively supported. I think there is guidance on the Silicon Dust site also. That's about all I remember from when I set up mine.

Well if you subscribe to Schedules Direct, then you may want to look at using some of my scripts to speed things along.

It's already pretty easy to setup Schedules Direct very quickly in NextPVR, doing all the channels automatically. Latest patches also have 'download icons from Schedules Direct' button.

Ah hell that is far easier than how I first went about it.

Grabbing the icons would certainly make things massively nicer. Smile

Now question are you using the name supplied by Schedules Direct, or the affiliate name...or just the one found by the device? I couldn't really tell from the video.

I tend to use Affiliate name over local name...mostly since icons are likely to be that of the affiliate than local.

My script also allows for removing channels based on the lang they are broadcasted in...like in my area I got some Spanish channels...and since I don't understand them...and thus wont watch them...I prune them from the lineup. This is info available in the JSON returned from Schedules Direct.

Since I use the names provided by Schedules Direct...I have an option to generically remove everything in parentheses...and one for splitting names if " - " is found...discarding what is to the right of the dash.

So some other idea's for you to ponder on. Smile

It would be great to see all that in NextPVR...as it would nullify any need of my scripts, which is frankly unwanted complexity.

But till then my scripts are still very useful...but I must thank you for showing me that video...massive time saver...was completely unaware of being able to do that.

I'm not seeing the "download icons..." button. Is that only available when setting up devices, or can it be done on the channels screen?

(also what component controls that, NextPVR.exe or some .dll?)

It's not in the public release of NextPVR right now, but in a development build.

To get the icons now, you'll have to use my scripts...but hopefully in the near future they (my scripts) will be unneeded.

One of the updated NShared.Dll patches I posted recently included this button in the 'manage lineups' screen.

Thanks guys. I got it working. I was missing the silicondust software.
