The thing is that you have to set livetv=1 when you are using it for parralel processing. No only to watch livetv.
Or as suggested before, move the compskip part to postprocessing.bat

That change to =1 may just have fixed it. Done so and a test on my local noon 1/2 hour news and the recording had ads removed. Am going to test two more shows later to see if this has made this great program work. Maybe(?) that is set to 1 in the "free" version to start with because as stated I did nothing to that .ini file. It just worked after it was installed.

After checking on five recordings since changing to =1 in the .ini file, sure looks like that fixed the problem. They all had ads removed. Question I would have for that problem would be why was it not set to =1 to start with?

you'd have to take that up with kaashoek. setting LiveTV=1 should not be necessary unless you really do want it to write preliminary skip points to the .edl file on the fly (and the go back at the end and re-write all the skip points with final values); the standoff_retries setting should be sufficient to let it fully process an in-progress recording. however, clearly it doesn't work as expected, and the LiveTV=1 setting triggers some additional logic that lets it survive bumping into the end of the file.
