Hello! First of all, here's my system setup:

BiostarG41D-M7 mobo
Core2Duo @ 3.0 Ghz.
4GB DDR2
XFX Radeon HD 5450
1.0 TB Seagate (primary)
250 GB Seagate (secondary)
Windows 10 Pro 32-bit

I am about to receive a Ceton Infinitv 4 USB, which I will be using with cableCARD via Comcast. My primary concern at this point is drivers, which I have been unable to install under Windows 10, even using Windows 7 or Windows 8 compatibility. I already know that I will only be able to receive "copy freely" programming, and I have no problem with that. The biggest headache, in addition to drivers, is that Ceton's installation software insists that WMC MUST be present in order to install the drivers, due to DRM issues. Given all of this, is there any way that the Ceton will work with nextPVR, or do I need to go to a Linux-based solution, such as Mythbuntu? Since I'm on SSDI, right now I simply can't afford an HDHomeRun, or anything similar. If there's any way that I can use the Ceton with nextPVR, please let me know! Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

There is several people using 4 tuner Ceton devices in NextPVR under Win10, so I'd assume it's possible. You'd probably need to wait until your hardware arrives before you try installing the drivers.

I am not sure that anyone is running the USB version though. I read it has problems http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/view...=68&t=9219

I got rid of my USB version 2 years ago but I've since switched to Silicon Prime and if anyone wants to buy my Ceton ETH 6, it's for sale. (I know this is not the place for selling stuff).

I aggravated Ceton so much with problems with the USB version I might be responsible for them no longer selling it. Smile

pcostanza,
Just curious; why would you stop using a Ceton ETH 6 in favor of a Prime?
(only 1 cablecard is required for 6 tuners)

Not that I think W10 is awesome but I saw SiliconDust continually update their cablecard tuners.......the Prime is a true network tuner and better for the whole home, IMO and I saw them working on their own DVR, specifically one that would work on my NAS. Ceton, on the other hand, hasn't had an update, to my knowledge, in about a year. Their last comment about what they plan on doing was May 3rd in a tweet and were non responsive to questions about the future of their devices to me and others.
They owe me nothing, as far as answers but I didn't see them as 'edgy' as Silicon. Look, my ETH worked nearly flawlessly and I was thinking about keeping it but am not so sure I will ever use it. Ceton has always been there when I needed support and fixed whatever minor problems I had, though their USB device wasn't so great.
I also still have an older, PCIe version of the InfiniTV IV that I no longer use.
And yes, I wish Silicon did make a 6 tuner version but at the time, 2 primes were actually just a bit cheaper than 1 ETH on Amazon though that's now changed.

The tuner arrived on Monday. However, the drivers refuse to install because WMC is not present. I'm waiting to hear from Comcast about obtaining a cableCARD. What do I do now?

I am surprised at the number of post lately about Ceton tuners. It seems since WMC's demise with Window 10, several folks are left hanging without any net. I'd seriously start considering SiliconDust HDHR tuners or Hauppauge cards... Just my opinion...

I am not surprised since sub just added the Ceton support in the release that coincided with the death of WMC Ceton discontinued some of their tuners like this USB tuner before Win 10 came out and it didn't even support Win 8. Caveat emptor.
