Manual Recording and Channel Selection

When I go to the manual recording screen the first item displayed in the list is: Recording Type: Record once.
Next line is: Channel: WPBN is shown. The channel I want is at the end of the list of channels I have to click through with the right arrow. Is there a way to get the channel I want to "show up" sooner in the long list?

If you want to go to channel 36. You can just type the channel number and press enter.

OK, that works well. Since I don't have a number pad programmed into my remote, I just have to reach over the laptop and use the keyboard to the computer Next is on.
