I turned on my PC's this morning to be greeted with another Win10 upgrade. But this time, the upgrade was a complete re-install of the latest Win10 - quite extensive it was. Trashed a lot of my personal settings and hosed my htpc audio settings. Everything is back to normal now. Just wanted every1 to be aware of this upgrade - it is a complete overhaul, it will take time.

Issues noted: changed font sizes, changed file sharing settings, removed my realtek hdmi audio driver and replaced it with a feeble MS version went from 7.1 to 2.0, blah, change power scheme settings, re-enabled homegroups, removed cpuid, and of course left around 25 gb of install files and old OS system files on system drive.

I forced it before I went to bed last night and all was good when I woke up. Nothing changed too much so far except a password and Edge becoming the default browser. I even continue to have working Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio and Video working in Win 10 with NextPVR

Unless Microsoft gives up on its relentless drive to force updates for Win 10, I'll just stick with 7 and 8.1 on my stuff. Their updates cause problems far too frequently lately. I prefer to install them (or not) selectively (and I NEVER install them on Day 1!) I prefer to let others be the pioneers. Cool

Should be illegal if you ask me. Forcing something you own, or in this case, were given for free but the fine print does spell out that free really isn't for free. But then again, is it ever?

At least I am on the fast cycle on one of my PC's and they don't charge for that so I do know what I am getting into.

Martin,

I have MS DTV-DVD audio as a choice on my W10 clients, but not video. Did you have to do something special to enable MS DTV-DVD Video in NPVR or am I just unlucky ?

I manually added it to config.xml, I posted that on this when but no one else has been able to get it working.

After the Win 10 "upgrade" I had trouble getting NPVR working again. I stopped and started the service several times to no avail. Rebooted and still no go. Booted into Win 7 to keep NPVR going.

This morning I booted back into Win 10 and everything is working again. Maybe Win 10 took affront at being abandoned for Win 7 and decided to behave.

My gadgets had disappeared after the upgrade but a download of the latest 8GadgetPack fixed that so that the NPVR gadget is all good again.
