A very minor bug, but if I schedule a recording from the guide as a quick record, then try to update it to change the recording type, (like Season record) it is stuck on "record once". The arrows on my keyboard or the remote won't work. It does let me pick a recording type if I choose record.

Also odd is if you choose "season record" and then go to update it, the update menu shows it set to "record once" and does not let you change it.

This is exactly the same as GBPVR - you cant change the recording type after it has been created.

And here it is, 5 years later, and this bug hasn't been addressed.

Its not a bug. It's intentional.

Then I'm not understanding something. If I once decide I want to record something, then later decide I do not want to make the recording, how do I cancel the recording?

Thanks,
Jim

Just click on the recording then hit the cancel button.

OK, did that. (I thought cancel meant just go back to Guide View screen.) NextPVR throws up a message: "Unhandled exception .... No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8968"

Same thing on three tries.

Found NRecord.exe (appearing as "NPVR Recording Service" in the Windows 10 Task Manager services tab) was not running. I started it, and ... no more unhandled exception!

Now, to see why it was stopped in the first place. It should have been OK; it's listed in Windows Firewall exceptions twice now, once for public networks, and once for private networks. No other firewalls on system.

It is still a mystery why Windows 10 does not start the recording service initially, it seems that if you start it manually the first time subsequent reboots will start it automatically.

Thanks for the reply. Here's the end of my story: I found that, if I set "NVPR Recording Service" (aka NRecord.exe) to "Automatic" start (using Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services), it would indeed start automatically with each reboot of Windows 10.

Also, I just installed NPVR on a Windows 7 machine that had never seen NPVR before. In that case, after NPVR installation, the Services list showed that "NVPR Recording Service" was already set to "Automatic". Like you said, it's a mystery why that didn't happen on the Windows 10 machine, too.
