Recurring Recording Issues

I have Windows 10 Pro. I was sure I deleted that folder, but maybe I screwed up. My wife has reminded me more than one that I do that on occasion. Oh well, we will see if it works now since I reinstalled it.

Ok, Reinstalled everything and the program is still crashing on hitting stop during a playback of recording. I've posted up numerous posts including 2 that happened after such an event. HELP!

Post the lops showing this and we'll take a look. Your previous logs were about the recording not being scheduled which you expected would be (and we identified they weren't being recorded because you'd recently deleted these episodes)

If you read my posts you would know that there were 2 shows yesterday that were suppose to record and did not. I've already posted the times and names of the shows 2 times. For the 3rd time, The Amazing Race (14.1 KMEG Friday 12/11/15 7 pm CST - 8 pm CST) and Master Chef Junior (44.1 Friday 12/11/15 7 pm CST - 8 pm CST). [COLOR="#FF0000"]Here are 2 more logs for tonight after it crashed on me 2 more times each time after stopping the recording. Both logs were taken right after the program became unresponsive and needed to be closed via Windows 10 task manager. Once again black screen after hitting the stop playing recording.[/COLOR] Not trying to be disrespectful and I am more than willing to support the cause financially, but I need a working program first. I been using nextpvr exclusively since July and these problems started to develop 3 weeks ago. I had no problems until 3 weeks ago and no changes have been made with the hardware and nothing software wise except the regular Windows 10 updates. The freezing and black screen didn't occur until I updated to 3.6.6. I will hopefully be finishing the recorded shows tomorrow and I will uninstall the program and then reinstall the program to see if a clean install will help. Unless I hear otherwise, that is how I will be proceeding. If these issues are not remedied, I will once again need to find another pvr solution as this one is unreliable. I appreciate all the time in programming and coding. As a Microsoft beta tester, I know how difficult it is. You know the program better than I. My skills are mainly hardware related and how hardware interacts with the software. For reference, here are my computer details.

MSI X88 Gaming motherboard
AMD A10
16 GB RAM
250 GB Samsung SSD
2 TB Western Digital Black Drive
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2255

Very basic, but should record shows without issue. If there is any other info that I can post besides the 4 sets of logs, please let me know. Thanks so much for your time and effort!

Here are 2 posts, if read, would indicate the they were taken immediately after nextpvr froze. Same thing different day. It is a busy season for me and I won't have time in the next coming day to work on it. I figured if we have 2 previously posted logs right after a freeze. They would say something. When I have time I will also post the Microsoft Window 10 logs to show nextpvr quit responding and errored out.

NextPVR appears to stop dead in its tracks.

and, for me, NextPVR carries on as normal.

The log messages are saying that NextPVR is unloading the decoders used to play the video.

You appear to be using decoders supplied by Hauppauge and I would expect these decoders to work without incident. My stock advice regarding decoders is to try SAF ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049 ... Send Hoborg a forum private message and ask for the "unlocked" version which has the "best" decoders.

You may be able to skip SAF and get a result by using a different audio decoder ... Try AC3filter ... http://www.ac3filter.net/

Note that I have no clue what is causing the problem and these are trial and error suggestions.

Like Graham, my guess is also that it's related to decoders. I usually use a fairly similiar set myself, so wouldn't have expected these decoders to have problems, but could be some differents in your system these decoders don't like. A bit of trial and error is probably required.

Alternatively, install this patch, and create a c:\temp directory. Hopefully next time the app fully crashes, it'll create a c:\temp\crash.mdmp file, which I can look at here in the debugger to find the cause.

I am a NOOBIE to nextpvr,

How do I install that NPVRTSReading2? I unzipped it and it is a .ax file which isn't recognized. I looked to see what files like this do, but not sure how to install this patch. Sorry about being a noobie on some of this.

Just replace your existing NPVRTSReader2.ax file with this new one. It lives in "C:\Program Files\NPVR" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR"

Make sure that you shutdown the any NextPVR windows, the NextPVR recording service and tray app first.
