I've run into an issue that has stumped me and I'm hoping someone in the community can suggest some things to try.
I have an HTPC setup using NextPVR with a Hauppauge HD PVR (Component Video 1080i).
This weekend I got fed up with the tangled mess of wires in my home theatre setup and spent several hours rearranging and rewiring everything cleanly.
After getting everything hooked up again, I tried using the NextPVR Live TV feature to watch a show but all I'm getting is a black screen. I haven't used NextPVR in a while so I don't know if this is a new issue or has been going on for a few weeks.
I know everything is wired correctly because the passthrough on the HD PVR is working. I have it going to the HDMI IN on my Xbox One (via a Component to HDMI converter) and I can watch TV on the Xbox without issue.
I also tested the Capture feature of ArcSoft ShowBiz (it came bundled with something I bought once, maybe the HD PVR itself) and it is working fine as well. So I know that the HD PVR is getting a signal and that it is working.
I checked my decoder settings in NextPVR and they seem fine. I'm using the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder for H.264 and the MainConcept decoder for MPEG2.
I noticed that there was an update for NextPVR last month so I installed that but I'm still getting the black screen problem when I try to watch live TV.
Lastly, I am able to use NextPVR to watch old recordings.
The only thing that has changed recently on my HTPC is that I regularly keep my K-Lite Codec pack updated and I'm thinking maybe something with a recent update is causing issues with NextPVR. Is there a different codec I can try to use with NextPVR?
This was all working as recently as last month.
I was hoping to get back into using Next PVR for watching/recording TV on a regular basis. Is there anything else I can check or try to get this working?
Is it possible that something in my NextPVR setup is corrupted and I need to completely uninstall it and re-install?
I don't know if it matters but my HTPC is running Windows 10. I haven't had any problems with it before but maybe some new issue has cropped up.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
