LiveTV or PIP allways use LAV Audio decoder.

My stream are MPEG-2 with AC3 audio.

I configured the client to use the AC3-Filter Audio Decoder
The server is configured with LAV Audio as AC3-Filter is not installed on the server.

On the client, watching a recording uses AC3 Audio decoder, however PIP or LiveTV always use LAV Audio Decoder!

methinks you misunderstand what you're looking at.

for a recording, it knows from looking at the file what video and audio decoder will be needed, so it loads only those.

for livetv, it might need any of your enabled decoders for the live tv stream, so it has to load them all; even if it checked what would be needed for the channel on which you've started live tv, you may change channels to one that needs different decoders, and you don't want it having to tear-down and re-build the playback graph for every channel change.

(to visualize what the playback graph for live tv looks like, think of an ad for swiss army knives showing 5 or 6 knives each with all their blades and tools fanned out)

by the way, the general advice is to leave disabled any video or audio decoder type you'll never use. afaik you only need MPEG-2 video, AC3 Audio... used to need MPEG-1 audio, but I've not noticed a channel using that for awhile now. the extras usually won't cause any problems, but there's little point in having them enabled. and then you won't say things like "watching a recording uses AC3 Audio decoder, however PIP or LiveTV always use LAV Audio Decoder!"
