:confused:I searched the forum but I cannot find anything to show me how to manually add a FM station. Please help me understand what values I need, where do I input the values. Thanks in advance.

When you click the 'Add FM' button, you enter the channel number and channel name you want to use, and the frequency.

The channel name and number can be anything you want. Best to use a channel number that isn't already in use though.

The frequency field defaults to 90.1. You need to adjust this to whatever frequency your station is on.

When I go to Settings + Devices I don't see any option to "add FM" on any of my devices. Also, I don't see my analog device specifically I don't see my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1950. This setup worked fine in Media Center and Mediaportal so hopefully I can get this working with NPVR.

I think I figured it out. I just did a search for HVR-1950 and I found this post. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...t=HVR-1950

Which states, "Yeah, sure it supports hardware encoder device. Most people here that use analog tuners are using hardware encoder devices. For *any* analog tuner to appear in the Settings->Devices screen though, you need to have the Hauppauge WinTV software installed (or at least the SoftPVR components)."

I am about to stop the service and install now. I will reply afterwards here.

I want to add an FM radio using an rtl/sdr dongle but not having any luck. I am using a Rpi 3 as the next pvr server. I have installed RTL_FM on the pi (if that makes a difference). When go I to settings-> Devices and scann for Devices it finds "DVB-T adaper0/front..." and "DVB-C adaper0/front...". When I go to one of those and click "Scan Channesl" I get a bunch of options like "ad-Andorra", but nothing that I can reconise as FM radio. I must have gone down a rabit hole that leads nowhere. I don't mind starting over from scratch. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no built in support for FM radio these days.

Years ago when NextPVR was redeveloped, from a windows-only app to a multi platform application, this feature from the old application was not moved forward into the new application. Very few users ever used radio and wasn't worth the effort.

The rtl device is also a dvb-t and possibly a dvb-c tuner so what you are seeing is perfectly normal. This is a v4 thread though so posting here on an 8 year old thread is not normal.

Check this thread (which is also all over the map) https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid539855 but that extra should work and continue your discussion there or better open a new post in that sub-forum and ask question there after trying to install the SDR extra. I haven't used it in a long time, internet radio is much better but I understand people are hobbyist's too.

I forgot I had another addon that even installs rtl_sdr for playback on Windows and arm if you are interested continue in the other thread.
