if you can find a Hvr-22xx or 11xx might do what you want, the pcie 22xx has 2 tuners, so could replace a pvr150 and dvb-t card.

Your dvb-t card will do analog @16:9, but it's software encoding.

edit: what do you use for live tv on Android outside of plex?

Good suggestion. I'll have a look around for an HVR card. I tried the analog on the HVR 1200 a while ago and couldn't get it to work so gave up as I've had the PVR150 running well for a long time.

I use nDroid for live TV - works nicely on both my Android devices. I can also use Skygo for sky channels.

I have instructions here: https://sites.google.com/a/andc.co.nz/ex...ex-library

I can try tonight but I wouldn't expect any difference? It seems like the issue is the content is being captured at 4:3 and then the Plex for Android app has no way of scaling it back to 16:9 - whether it be via a library or through the Npvr channel.

Trying through a Plex library doesn't work, as expected.

Now for my next trick...

looking at the reply to the Plex thread, you are stuck with a few choices:
- upgrade your capturecard to something which can record in 16:9 for the 4:3 source (have sky upgraded your box yet? - you could capture in component which should be widescreen)
I currently capture out the back of my SkyHDi box using component, so the sports channels are in HD and the rest are upscaled to 720p by the skybox. (this used myu HDPVR, which is USB esxternal, but captures in h264 1080i / 720p)

- post process and not have in progress recordings in 16:9

- live with 4:3 recordings on Plex for Android

I've just thought of another option, in the android app, under advanced, player - you can specify to use an external player. Maybe play around with that and see if you can get another android player to play the stream, which will probably have a stretch / zoom option.

Good suggestion re the external player... except I can't get it to work. I installed the MX player app and it has an option for stretching to 16:9 and it works well. I then tried enabling the 'External Player' option in the Plex app settings. But then I go to play a recording from the Plex server and I don't get an option to choose another player... the video just plays in the Plex player. Happens on both my Galaxy S5 or Nexus 9. Don't know if it's a bug or not. I've tried clearing the defaults in App settings as well, but alas.

Argggghhhhhh... so close!!

Got this resolved finally - they just want me to shell out $6 and it works!

I've been playing around with the channel more and it's working well. However I don't see where I can play in-progress recordings? Any ideas for diagnosis?

Thanks

They should show up under the recordings section of the channel. I have found it a little flaky - but that could be my set up (Plex Server is a physical box, that is seperate from nextpvr which is a virtual machine on the physical box - and to complicate the network, I use a HD Home run.

Oh sorry, I have a lifetime plexpass and didn't realise that was a paid feature of the app. (back when lifetime was 1/2 the price)

Got the in-progress recordings working last night. Yes, found it was very flaky as well. The playback stopped randomly probably a dozen times over an hours viewing, which meant I had to restart and then fast forward to the last watched position. Do you know why that could be?
