You may need to add those settings if you don't have them already.

Hi Sub,

I replaced
<VolumeControl>none</VolumeControl>
with
<VolumeControl>internal</VolumeControl>
<VolumeLevel>100</VolumeLevel>

I will keep you posted on how it goes.

BTW I hope you didn't mind the PM
Regards,
Mark

NPVR 3.x broke some of the old plugins, it might need to be recompiled for .net 4.0?

Yep it works .... but it only shows the system volume Sad

Those settings will mean NextPVR is already requesting full volume from directshow, so your problem is more likely the lower relative volume levels being used by your broadcaster, or your decoder is producing a lower level of volume.

If you use lower values, do you hear the volume be reduced?

Hi Sub,

The settings only seem to work for live tv not on recorded videos (mp4).

I had a look at your version of FFMPEG it supports "vol" eg. "-acodec ac3 -ab 192k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -vol 400",
but I am not sure that FFMPEG is used for playback of recorded videos. NOTE: Later versions use "-filter:a volume=3dB".

So it looks like I will have to up the recorded volume by ... say 6dB prior to watching on NPVR. Sad

Mark

If it sounds fine in other apps then you need to try different audio decoders till you find one that will work well

Those settings do work with recorded videos too, but only .ts files, like those recorded by NextPVR. These settings don't currently work with any other file types. I've made a modification for the next release to also apply those volume settings for other file types, like mp4 etc.

Thanks Sub Smile

All we need now is the ability to push the volume past 100% Big Grin

Would I be correct in guessing that ffmpeg is only used for transcoding? :o
