Unable to start device: DVB-C tuning failed

Hello

I'm using Windows Server 2012. After installing BDA Files my sundtek USB DVB-C Receiver ist working fine with the DVBClient Software.

I would love to use nextPVR 3.6.6 with kodi but after successfully installation and execution, when i start to search channels this message appears:
Unable to start device: DVB-C tuning failed, then i only can click ok.

I tried to find a solution in all the other threads...nothing :confused:

Firewall Port 8866 is open
Connection to http://127.0.0.1:8866/ works fine

Any ideas, what could be the problem?

I would appreciate any advise how to fix.

PS: maybe to save time -> the only ERROR i have found in the log files is:

2016-05-17 20:57:56.814 [ERROR][1] Failed to create IDVBCLocator

If you try starting NextPVR with 'run as administrator' does it make any difference?

Sorry, I'm not really sure what to suggest then. It sounds like something is wrong with the Microsoft BDA components on your machine if the IDVBCLocator isn't available. Their included app may be using some other proprietary tuning scheme that doesn't rely on BDA, so doesn't have the same issue.

Ok, i will try to install again the BDA files. Maybe i have copied the wrong files or something is missing.
I used an install guide from the internet. There was some point, that for me was not 100% clear.

I will give you feedback.

These aren't typically something you'd install. ie, they're just part of Windows.

Ah, I missed that you were running Windows Server. I'm sure it'll be something to do with this manual install of BDA. Its possible those manual BDA steps are only covering ATSC/DVB-T or something similar, and don't cover what's required for DVB-C.
