Why is it that when I view Live TV in NPVR it is crystal clear. But when it records it is all messed up audio cuts in and out and images pixelate like crazy. Recordings are not even viewable.

Recordings are not even viewable. Do you have multiple tuners (either in a single device or multiple devices)? Messed up audio and pixelation sound like a weak signal problem. Are you using an over-the-air (OTA) antenna or cable or something else? Definitely check connections and try to remove as many splitters, etc. as possible.

Seems to be another manifestation of this problem you had http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post464757

Recordings are not even viewable. In your last thread on it, linked by Martin above, it looks like you have multiple tuners, with at least one of them getting shitty reception (or bad cabling, or dud tuner). When you have multiple tuners, recording works it's way down to the tuner list, looking for the first available tuner. Live TV does the opposite, and works it's way up the tuner list. The result is that it's choosing a different tuner for live tv vs recording. From your description, the tuner nearer the bottom of the list is being used for live tv and giving good results, recordings chose a tuner nearer the top of the list and it does a poor job. |
