Sorry for the longish post (my first here!). I've done a lot of searching on the forum but I haven't found a post that mirrors the problem I'm experiencing.
I'm pretty new to NPVR, having used it only for the past 2-3 months. It replaces my longtime PVR -- SageTV -- to record and serve TV, mostly sports broadcasts. TV is provided by way of a digital Charter Cable box. After a bit of learning and configuration, I configured NPVR to work perfectly as a replacement to SageTV. The only difference is I now use Schedules Direct instead of Sage's guide service. My system's key components consisted of an Intel e5200 processor, Win 10 Release Preview, a Hauppauge Colossus, an ASUS PQ5 Pro, and a 500 gb HDD used for temporary storage of the recorded TV videos. Once configured, this system worked great and I consequently suffered no SageTV seller's remorse. :-)
Last week, I migrated the Colossus capture card and the 500 gb hard drive to a similarly-aged but different PC. Its key components are an AMD Athlon64 x2 processor on a Gigabyte motherboard running Win 10 Release Preview. I saved the database and configuration files from the first computer. After installing Hauppauge's WinTV 8 and setting up the IR blaster software (all things Hauppauge -- Live TV, recording, channel changing are working perfectly), I then installed NPVR, immediately closed it and stopped the recording service, then copied my saved database and configuration files. In most respects, NPVR now functions as it did on the Intel PC - that is to say Schedules Direct and the guide work, I can record TV and play it back via NPVR (or any other video player) and serve it via Mezzo across my network to my TV via a Sony Blu-Ray player.
The exceptions (functions that aren't working) however are:
1: NPVR will not change the Motorola DCX3200 channels via the IR Blaster whether watching live TV or when attempting a pending recording;
2. No mouse menu control (play, pause, change channel up, change channel down, etc.) works when watching LiveTV or when paying back a recording.
I'm suspicious that issue 2 may actually be the crux. Could there be a video core component missing that's necessary for the overlay menu to work? One key distinction between the AMD computer and the Intel one is that the AMD was a clean Windows 10 installation back in Dec 2015 to an SSD using MS Media Creation Tool. The previous computer was upgraded over the years from Windows 7, 8, 8.1, (including Media Center) and finally to Windows 10 as the consumer reviews were released. Once NPVR installed, I initially received a message about missing DirectX components. I downloaded and updated all DX components. That seemed to placate NPVR. I've subsequently uninstalled and reinstalled NPVR a couple times.
I've found no instance among forum posts where the NPVR control overlay menu was reported not to function. Neither have I seen a post about IR Blaster dysfunction when the WinTV and the Hauppauge Blaster worked perfectly to change channels. So there it is! Anyone have a experience with such a thing?
Attached are the log files. I reinstalled NPVR, went straight to LiveTV, attempted a channel change up and down, and saved the log files.
Thanks in advance!
