I have been using and ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner (USB) for several years with Windows Media Center and it has worked fine. However, Microsoft is eliminating Windows Media Center with Windows 10. I just recently found NextPVR and downloaded and installed it. However, the ATI device is not found when a scan is run. All I get is a IPTV device. I am currently still running Windows 8.1 (don't want to upgrade until I can find a replacement for media center). Does NextPVR not work with the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner (USB) or is there something special I need to do? And advice would be helpful. I have attached my log file.

To my knowledge, each CableCard device has to be uniquely programmed and supported in NextPVR; it's not like regular tuners where you just install drivers and go. This is the first time I've seen ATI's cable card tuner mentioned here, so I'm pretty sure it's not supported; so far the only cablecard devices supported are the HD-Homerun Prime, Hauppauge DCR-2650 (basically a USB version of the HDHR Prime), and the Ceton card. The programmer (sub) can comment further, he'll be along in the morning.

You also need to be aware that you will only receive channels marked "CopyFreely"; cable companies are supposed to mark all their regular cable channels as "CopyFreely", with only the premium channels like HBO marked "CopyOnce" or "CopyNever", but some cable companies mark everything "CopyOnce", so you'll get no channels beyond basic broadcast in NextPVR. Media Center is the only way to receive such channels, as Microsoft can afford the CableLabs license and certification.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct

I don't believe that the FCC regulations say that cable companies are supposed to mark all their regular cable channels as "CopyFreely". (Comcast does--or at least did--have a corporate-wide policy like this and has been responsive in getting the settings changed if misconfigured.) But, as several people have reported, some cable companies (especially Time Warner) do often (always?) mark everything "CopyOnce" including broadcast channels. If that is your case, then NextPVR (and basically every other PVR software except Windows Media Center) will be unable to access any channels.

Correct. Unfortunately this ATI device wont work with NextPVR.
