EPG works on one WIN10 machine but not the other

Hello,

I need help with an issue I can't seem to figure out. I upgraded my server from WIN 8.1 to WIN 10. I was using WMC as my DVR with WIN 8.1. Because WIN 10 gets rid of WMC I had been looking for a replacement. I tested NEXTPVR on another WIN 10 desktop I had and it worked great in conjunction with my dual HDHomeRun tuner. I am only using OTA for channels and the EPG data worked fine on the WIN 10 test machine giving me multiple days of programing data.

I upgrade my server to WIN 10 and installed NEXTPVR but I have not been able to get the EPG data to work. It only shows 1 hour worth of data in the guide. I went back to my test machine and confirmed it is working fine. I have checked the setups against each other and have them setup the exact same way on both machines. Please note I'm not trying to update the EPG data at the same time on both computers. I am doing 1 at a time so I don't tie up the tuners.

I have attached my logs from both the working and nonworking install along with pictures of the guides. I would appreciate any guidance you can give.

The only difference between the machines is that the working desktop is 32 bit. The nonworking server is 64 bit.

In the HDHR Setup utility on each machine, do you have the 'BDA Compatibility mode' set the same on both machines?

You have to run the HDHR setup/installation on each machine that will be used as a server. You will also have to do a Channel scan and EPG mapping on each machine that will be used as a server. It sure looks like the OTA EPG data stream(just 1 hour of data) got used to populate the EPG. No mention of EPG Guide data source used for the 2 machines.

Yes. On both machines BDA Compatibility is set to NextPVR. Under Advanced both machines BDA Driver Virtual Channel Table mode is set to Auto. The Automatically select from available tuners box is checked on both machines.

If you set it to something other than NextPVR or Media Center, like maybe set it to MediaPortal, does it make any difference when you try to update the EPG?

That said, the broadcast EPG in North America is pretty rubbish. It usually only has a few hours of listings, which is next to useless. Most people in that part of the world use Schedules Direct, which gives you a few weeks of listings at anytime, along with artwork etc.

Interesting that it's the 64-bit machine that's not working. More than once I've read about a 64-bit version of this or that not working with NPVR because it's a 32-bit application. I've never had that problem so I haven't catalogued them, but it's a thought.

As sub posted don't use NextPVR as your BDA compatibility mode. Default and MediaPortal are better.

I haven't run a 32 bit version of Windows for years, so all my development and testing for NextPVR has been done on 64-bit versions, so there shouldn't really be anything to that theory.
