Hello,

I have Nextpvr 3.7.7 as my back end (just upgraded after experiencing the issue again) and Kodi 15.2 as my front. Sometimes when I am in the guide in Kodi and change the channel or a scheduled recording changes the channel it will go to channel 2 or 3 instead of the intended channel. This has happened several times and is quite frustrating for scheduled recording. When changing the channel, if it goes to channel 2 or 3 I can change it to a different channel then back and it works fine. Whether it goes to channel 2 or 3 seems to depend on whether I am going to a channel in the 200 or 300 range. I have done some searching but have not had any luck. Nextpvr logs are attached. Thank you in advance.

This will be an issue with the blaster software you're using. Check if it has an settings to tweak it's timing. Some let you tweak the delay between digits, and number of times each digit is repeated etc. NextPVR just tells the blaster to change to channel 204, and the blaster software takes care the rest.

That makes a lot of sense. Off to Hauppage forums I go. Thank you very much for your help.

You also might not have the correct STB selected. Try tuning the channel with the Hauppauge configuration software and try different models.

Would this be the case even if the power button and number buttons work properly upon inital setup of the blaster?

Hard to know really - they could have several set top box definitions that work your set top box, but one might be a better match. (or you might already be on the best match)

Thank you again. I have increased the delay between button inputs on the blaster. If this doesn't work I will try what you suggested. Thank you both for your help.

If the channels work with the Hauppauge test configuration they should work with the Hauppauge software you are tuning with. Did you test channels over 200? One of my cableco's STB's diid need a different model selected which is why I asked.

Another possibility is some STB's go into sleep mode and eat the first key stroke on wakeup. I had to call a batch program to send the string twice with a pause in the middle.

Yep, I tested ones in the 200 and 300 range as well as the default 123 it gives you. My issue appears to be the box is getting the first digit and ignoring the last two digits. That is why I thought slowing it down might work. Could sleep mode still be an issue?

If it works with increased delay don't worry too much

I'd try the commands manually from the command line

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe" 297
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe" 296
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe" 123

to see if the box sleeps overnight and it would be useful to watch the OSD or the front panel of the STB to see what is going on.
