Fresh Install Of Windows 10

I was afraid this was going to happen

Windows 10 all installed fine... the happauge unit itself is recognized by Windows 10 because I installed the software that came with it and all looks good

But when I installed NextPVR and tried it, the device is there, it is configured well, but, when I try to tune into Live TV, I see the blaster doing its thing and waking up the direct TV receiver and tuning the station, but, the NextPVR window just turns solid black and PVR unit never illuminates blue (as it is supposed to)

It looks like you've got your channels set to use SPDIF audio. Is that what you meant to set them to use? If you set them to SPDIF, and there is no SPDIF, then the device wont deliver any data.

Most people are using RCA audio.

No. That was wrong on my part. I changed it to RCA back, started deleting some of the channles I had listed (I realized shortly thereafter that I didn't need to delete the channels, just "upgrade to current" but it was too late.. I tried to stop it and NextPVr crashed. now I only have channels starting at 489....

I ionstalled the SAF decoders on my system but don't see them as an option within nextPVR. am I missing somethin g ?

Sorry, I can't follow what you're trying to describe here.

If you want to delete all you channels and add them again, you can delete your npvr.db3 file. That'll put you back to a fresh empty database.

If you've got a crash happening, your best bet is to post a screenshot and the logs.

I don't know anything about SAF. I've never used them. Someone else would need to answer that for you.

You need to set up an AAC decoder for the RCA input.

Oh boy, I am really in need of some help here. I literally have no other things to try. I am stumped. This all works so nicely in Windows 7, and, I lack the knowledge to get it running under Windows 10

The MAJOR problem is, black screen when I try to watch live video. And, the thing is, if it actually recorded video and wouldn't allow me to watch live, I would be ok with it. But, it tries to record (creates the file and folder), but, the recording is 0kb and nothing ever happens.

I am asking for anyones help that may be able to help me resolve this ordeal. this is a fresh install of Windows 10 on my dell system (the same system that ran this all very well)

SAF is an installer that installs decoders that are known to work with NextPVR. For example, SAF installs LAV decoders and the LAV audio decoder can be used to playback audio for most of the TV in most countries. You won't see anything called a "SAF decoder".

Send a forum private message to Hoborg and ask for the "unlocked" version of SAF that installs the "best" decoders.
