I am running Windows 10 X64 on my desktop computer with NextPVR and Colossus Tuner. I recently upgraded NextPVR to 3.7.7. I have upgraded VLC to 2.2.4 (32 bit). The VLC installer still shows the Mozilla Web Plugin and the Activex plugin, and I installed both. I checked the config via the classic interface and the VLC location is correctly set. I cannot stream from the guide in either the “Modern” or “Classic” interfaces. I CAN stream from the modern interface, but only using the “Now” button. I can see the guide in both interfaces.

Attempting to stream from the guide (not the NOW) in the modern interface yields “HTTP Error”. Attempting to stream from the guide in the classic yields “Internal Server Error”. These errors appear both on my LAN and when using localhost. I tried turning off firewall to no avail. Turned off antivirus to no avail. Tried with both Firefox (V47) and IE with same result.
NextPVR seems to be working just fine on the desktop. LiveTV works and recording works.

The web server sometimes fails because of a .Net error caused by a missing directory. When I had the problem connecting to the web server from the local host (127.0.0.1) gave a much more helpful error report.

I can't help you with streaming from the Classic interface (UJB might be able to help, or might just tell you to switch to the Modern interface). I can help you with the streaming from the Modern interface.

Can you try re-run the installer from http://www.nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup_3_7_7.exe. I'm pretty sure this problem with watching from the guide was fixed (subsequent to the release in a patch, which has now been rolled into the installer).

Sub,

Reran installer. Same as before. When clicking "Watch" from the guide, it says "Requesting Stream", "Buffering", then "Playing", but there is no picture. Just a spinning circle.

Works when I use the "NOW" button.

Can you try replacing your c:\users\public\npvr\web\modern directory with the one supplied here and let me know if it helps?

Replaced the dir and restarted the service. Now, it MOSTLY works. That is, most times I get a picture, and sometimes I get the spinning circle and no play (both NOW and from guide). However, whatever you changed certainly did something.

Spoke too soon. Seemed to be working most of the time from localhost, so I tried over my Wifi (IE on Win10 client). This started to work once from NOW, lasted for maybe 15 seconds then went away. After that, could not connect. So, I went to the server and the Recording Service had crashed. I can send you the event log stuff and whatever logs you want, just not sure what you want to see.

How is the CPU usage on your server at the time?

Reproduce the problem, and post the transcode log file created in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\web\temp

it's the ffmpeg.exe.. i had to replace mine for it to ever get to work..[32bit windows on server]
now it works great with livetv for me.. where as it would never even try to start before...
just used a recent ffmpeg.exe and it plays..Smile
i get "access denied" when trying to run ffmpeg.exe by itself on server...

It is supposed to have included an updated ffmpeg.exe in the release. I don't suppose you noticed what the date was on it before you replaced it?
