Managed to get the plugin installed and working fairly easily. Two problems:
1) In Plex on desktop, live TV doesn't play; the spinner will just keep on spinning.
2) In Plex on mobile (iPhone 6 Plus in my case), live TV will play, but there's heavy interlacing on 1080i60 channels (720p60 are obviously fine).

So far, as far as I know, the better route is to use NextPVR's web interface to grab the direct stream link to play it manually in a separate player (VLC, for example).

Is that plex/web? or Plex via Windows App store (or Plex HT). Can't say I've tried the latter for a while, but I thought plex/web was fairly happy.

Have a look at your client settings, but I don't have a lot of control over that...when giving plex the stream you construct an episode or video object - and there are options for specifying resolution, audio channels and formats etc. I tend to leave most of this unspecified as if I forced h.264 and then someone from the US that was mpeg2 based tried using it, then I doubt it would work. But the flipside is maybe by not specifying it, the transcoder over compensates.

Plex's desktop site inside of Firefox.

Client settings within Plex's advanced settings?

Ok, that's plex web. Plex desktop is a windows app (and app for mac). They would all have different capabilities.

When I'm watching a video on IOS or on plex web, there are some settings on the top right that allow you you set video quality - looks like 3 vertical lines line an old school equaliser.

I was looking for that initially, but never found it like I do for regular Plex content:

Hmm, yes I guess being a channel you can't normally control it.

So under plex/web, in the player settings maybe play with some of these.

I'll see if I can put something in to set the resolution to force it.

I'm having a problem implementing this setup and I'm sure it's something stupid I'm doing. First of all here is the hardware...

Windows 10
I7-2600 CPU
8mg ram
Silicon Dust HDHomeRun Prime

I can view tv natively in NextPVR but when I try to view it through the channel in PLEX it immediately dies. I can see the channel attempt to activate on the HDHomerun, but no video. Log from plex channel attached.

Hi,

I have a Plex server running on a Ubuntu 16.04 headless box accessed via Putty. Sounds this plugin will add something good to Plex. Problem is I'm a bit of a duffer with installing stuff - I can follow tried and tested tutorials though. Is there a tutorial for installing this on Ubuntu please?

I run Plex headless on a Centos 7 LXC container - this is what I did to get Plex and Nextpvr 'talking'..

on the linux server, download the Nextpvr Plex plugin: wget https://github.com/psyciknz/NextPVR-Plex...master.zip

unzip master.zip

copy the NextPVR-Plex-master/NextPVR.bundle directory to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/

In the Channels section within the Plex app, set the Nextpvr ip address/port, save and restart Plex.
