Friendly dates for recordings

As a previous user of the now near-deprecated TV Listings plugin, I miss the friendly dates on recordings - eg Yesterday, Tomorrow etc. Could this be made an option, please?

Personally, I think it would also be very friendly if the day of the week was shown whenever
a date is displayed, e.g. show "Sat, December 10, 2016" rather than "December 10, 2016".
Many shows are recorded on a particular day of the week and this would allow easier navigation in Pending lists for example.
