Recently added a Hauppauge Quad and Colossus 2 to replace 2 Hauppauge 2210 cards, this new combination works well. Using component I/p to record satellite set top box and Hauppauge IR Blaster to change channels, even got the Hauppauge IR to change channels. I have about 100 Channels Configured on Australian DVBT and a Foxtel HD Set top box.
One annoying issue!
My recorded TS files using NPVR from the colossus 2 are flagged as 4x3 I want 16x9. Device is set to 16x9 in config and it shows as 16x9 in the config.xml file.
If I use Hauppauge Capture the recorded files are flagged as 1.82:1 and play as 16x9.
I can set NPVR to full aspect ratio however files are often played on other devices and software.
I used to set mpg2 TS recordings from the analogue I/p on the 2210 cards to 16x9 when I cleaned them up with VideoReDo, unfortunately with the H.264 format in have to do a complete recode to change aspect ratio to 16x9.
Is there a way to set all files generated by the Colossus 2 using NPVR to 1.82:1 (16x9)?
Edit
I just found something!
Under Device configuration - advanced settings I had previously set to 16:9 and deselected auto button then saved, this setting does not hold, when I open advanced settings again the auto box is selected, tried several more times and same thing.
Still Shows 16x9 in config.xml but auto if set somewhere else!
