I am using NextPVR v3.9.2, running under Windows 7 Professional. My NextPVR system uses a SiliconDust HD Homerun PRIME 3 tuner cable device and a Silicondust HDHomeRun Connect 2 tuner OTA device. My cable provider is Comcast.
The national network Heroes & Icons (http://www.heroesandiconstv.com) decided to change their schedule, effective March 31, 2017. I can only receive the H&I network OTA, on channel 7.3. When I set up my channels in NextPVR I specified Schedules Direct as my provider and defined two lineups. One is OTA for 93618 (near Fresno) and the other is Comcast Digital. When I initially set up all my channels I set all my OTA channels to use Schedules Direct and the OTA lineup. What I didn't notice at the time was that NextPVR appeared to ignore what I wanted and assigned Comcast as the lineup for several of my OTA channels. It did this for OTA channels that were also carried by Comcast. For channels not carried by Comcast it left my original assignment of the OTA lineup alone. Comcast does not offer the sub channels 7.2 and 7.2 in my area, but apparently in other nearby areas (possibly Fresno) they DO. So the secondary channels 7.2 and 7.3 appear in the lineup as channels 190 and 191. Because they are in the lineup, NextPVR insists on using them, no matter what I do, short of actually deleting the Comcast lineup from NextPVR.
In the past this hasn't caused me any problems with my listings, except that when H&I made the change on March 31st Comcast is still using the OLD schedule.
I contacted Schedules Direct and they are looking into the problem, but apparently the OTA listing is ok, just Comcast is wrong. If I could change NextPVR to use the OTA lineup I could work around the problem until the Comcast problem is fixed, but I would like to know if this behavior by NextPVR is by design or a bug. I would think that if I set the lineup to be the OTA lineup NextPVR should not change it arbitrarily, it should accept my change, or at least warn me that it's not going to allow the change.
Thanks,
Chuck
