3.9.2 Using escape to exit a LIVE TV sometimes causes NPVR to hang on a blank screen

instead of going back to the main menu. I noticed this issue immediately upon upgrading to this 3.9.2 version many weeks ago from 3.8.3. However I did not think it too significant as I would just hit ENTER to cause it to go back to live tv and then I would use the stop "square" symbol to get it to go back to the main menu. It does not happen consistently and I cannot determine what causes it. Some days it does hang on escape others it wont. It annoys my lovely wife endlessly though so I have caved in and decided to report it. The program never crashes when it does this as ENTER usually gets it to go back to LIVE TV. Using escape multiple times does not seem to move it off the blank screen.

Wish I had more background info to offer but really nothing other I am using all the default settings the installer puts in. Its a new 3-4 month old WIndows 10 HOME machine version 1607. OS build 14393.693. 8GB RAM

Can you reproduce the problem, then post your logs?

oK tonight I left it running for a few hours on pbs. when I came back just a few minutes ago the lips were out of sync with the sound... no big deal.. I changed channels and came back and it was ok. Then I hit escape and it went and hung on a blank screen. hit escape a bunch more nothing. hit enter back on live tv. tried the STOP button.. same thing hung on blank screen (sort of black screen) hit enter again back on live tv. after a few go arounds it finally went back to the main menu. I tried it again and got hung again. it was just a few minutes ago here is the zipped logs. never crashes always recovers back to live tv... just you cant get out for prolonged periods.

Weird. I can't think what might be causing that, and I can't see any obvious reason in the logs. The Escape and Stop buttons both stop iit the same way.

When I have had the sound is out of sync with the video it turned out to be a decoder problem. Using the wrong decoder here also results in the screen going black when comskip jumps. Perhaps try a different video decoder?

What kind of video card do you have ? Your aren't running in Direct3D mode for some reason and the D2D errors you are getting could be causing screens to not be refreshed.

If you mean me... Its an intel HD graphics on board video in an Acer Aspire XC-704 with an intel J3710 cpu. video Driver Version 20.19.15.4352. Resolution set to 1280x720

i have not changed any system settings from anything that Acer, Microsoft or NPVR cause to happen.

This curious behaviour continues from time to time even with the W10 Creators update and the latest Hauppauge update of a week ago.

maybe try using the F9 function key. This should return you to the main menu with Live TV showing in a window.
