Dreaded Blank Screen - but only after shutdown

Firstly here are my logs.

The problem I am having is after a full restart of W10 the pvr works fine, but after the normal shutdown (fast boot enabled) all I get on starting npvr again is the normal EPG then if i click to either watch live tv or on a current program all I get is the dreaded blank screen no picture or sound and the only way to restart is to close npvr down from the top right corner "x" Oddly enough if I do a complete restart it works fine the first time but after that its back to the blank screen. I have tried updating to the latest version - no different V3.7.7 used to work but since I tried the updated program the installation is showing as version 3.9.2 even though I used the 3.7.7 exe file I had kept.

Do you get a better result if you if NextPVR Settings --> Decoders --> Video Renderer is set to EVR ?

I have tried all settings nothing works, the only way I can get it to work is by doing a full restart and then it will only work once if i shutdown normally and then when it restarts it is just a blank screen no vision or sound when I click on any entry in the epg. I cant understand why it works on a full reboot but not on a restart. I suspect it may be something to do with the fast start setting but as it takes a while to boot up I am reluctant to uncheck fast start.

Try NextPVR Settings --> Misc --> Update DVB EPG during live TV ... should be not ticked ... Having this option ticked on can cause problems. Close NextPVR and then reboot after changing the setting to restart the NextPVR processes.

Definitely tick that and also consider installing Directx9 via this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download...px?id=8109

However there might be a problem with you capture driver after resuming. There seems to be a link with the card not being able to lock the signal after a resume. ie

Thanks for all your advice on this, it seems that my problem started after an update from Microsoft and wasnt fixed with the new Creators update. It was being caused by the Fast Start Up. I unchecked it and so far (4 or five times shutting down and starting) NPVR is behaving its self. Seems Microsoft have broken something in one of their updates and have carried it over to the Creators edition, hopefully it will be fixed in the future.

What is fast start up.

Fast startup is sort of like shutdown light -- when fast startup is enabled, Windows will save some of your computer's system files to a hibernation file upon shutdown (or rather, "shutdown"). Then, when you turn your computer back on, Windows will use these saved files to boot up quicker -- basically, booting from hibernate instead of from scratch.
For obvious reasons, fast startup only works if you have hibernate enabled (learn how to enable/disable hibernate here). Also, fast startup only affects shutdowns, not restarts.

So the question is what file are saved. I can see where this could cause problems. I have always turned hibernate off.

UPDATE to original post.

After using NPVR for a few weeks it's still working perfectly, including waking up from sleep to record. I haven't turned fast boot back on as I've now got used to the 2-3 mins start up time. Creators edition seems to be working OK as is the start screen windows spotlight photographs which never worked before. Thanks to all those on this forum for their invaluable advice and a great program.
