After the previous problems you may need to reboot the server to get the recording service running. I assume you have mapped the channels to the new tuner and disabled the older one.

Despite the comment that re-installing NextPVR was generally not a way to fix issues, as I was getting fed up with trying to get MediaPortal2 working, I decided that, as NextPVR was not working, I had nothing to lose.
So I de-installed, re-installed and it worked!!!!!!!! I took the following steps: ⢠Found NextPVR via Settings > Apps&Features â and un-installed it. ⢠Then via Task Mgr > Details â removed NTray.exe ⢠Then found folder NPVR which had not been deleted nor had some sub-folders, so deleted this. ⢠Found ânpvrâ entry in the registry and deleted that. ⢠Shut down and then re-started system. ⢠Re-installed NextPVR, during which got the message âUnable to start serviceâ¦â¦â¦.NPVR Recording Serviceâ¦â¦â¦an instance of service is already runningâ. ⢠I ignored this and clicked on OK and installation was complete. ⢠Started NextPVR, set up the TV dongle, scanned and found channels, and set decoders to LAV filter where any were disabled. ⢠Clicked on âLiveTVâ and IT WORKED!!! ⢠Went back into Settings and updated EPG ⢠Started KODI and disabled MediaPortal addon and enabled NextPVR addon, and everything seems to work. Subsequent to this I attempted to record four programmes via Kodi. Three were successful and one created a folder but did not record the programme. The only difference I was aware of was, that in the case of the one that did not work, I had left Kodi open. For the others I had closed Kodi. I have attached logs for all of the above in case anyone can work out the difference between when NextPVR would not work and when it did. Thanks again for everybodyâs interest.

Basically you did the same thing that you did the last time https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post514826 you "fixed" it. I stand by my statement that uninstalling isn't what is fixing things unless your drive is corrupt.
The reason for the failure likely relates to this error with your capture device 2017-06-06 20:36:45.417 [DEBUG][13] Failed to start device: 0x8007001f suggesting that it is still not 100% Martin

I agree with you Martin, my actions did not 'fix' the problem.
However, my 'workaround' has got me up and going again and I am happy. Thank you for your suggestion re the device. When the problem was occurring I did try other devices but had the same problem with them At the time, the Administrator said he could get me a diagnostic patch, but not at the moment as they are busy on other work. I am technically challenged for doing anything else myself, and so, while the 'fixers' are busy, I am content to be able to be able to record what I want. Thank you again for your interest. Richard |
