tvfiend Wrote:I have xfinity (comcast) cablecard in an HDHR Prime and ran into this issue last week. I was able to fix the viewing of channels by changing them to H.264. However NPVR recordings, whether it's local MPEG2 or cable AVC channels the .ts files won't open in anything. The size looks correct and the data is likely there but header could be bad. I tried an old WMC install and that no longer works to view or record either. HDHomeRun's beta DVR is the only thing I've found to record them but it could use a lot of work and I'd really like to use the much more convenient NPVR to record. Is there anything I can try?
Can you supply a short sample recording made by NextPVR?
You can only use channels marked copy-freely in NextPVR. (in all software except in WMC or HDHR DVR - which have both paid exorbitant licensing fees to CableLabs, and made guarantees to pay large multi-million dollar fines in the event of anyone finding ways around their content protection schemes)
@tvfiend my first thought was encryption but you said you could watch the channel with live tv in NextPVR which is why I asked you to send the live tv playback in the lgos. Perhaps you have merged two different tuner sources for the same channel?
I was able to solve this. I have 2 HDHR's, NextPVR was using a different HDHR to view than record. Comcast mistakenly disabled the cablecard in the HDHR that was set to record.
