Hi,

I just installed 404 and am having an issue out of the box ...

After installing 404 on a test client, I am getting heavy choppiness on both Audio & video trying to watch both LiveTV and recordings. However, no issues when "Use Legacy TSReader" box is checked.

The client logs show status both when legacy is checked and not checked.

Server is running 404.

note about the client logs npvr.1 & .2 are with the legacy box unchecked; npvr.log is with box checked. works fine in legacy, but not with new TSReader.

Any ideas?

Do you see this choppiness playing recordings? If so, can you supply a sample recording?

Do you get this choppiness if you play directly on the server, rather than client/server?

yes, playing recordings exhibit same choppiness

my server is headless, I use VNC to connect therefore no audio and video appears to be choppy as well, but that is not a reliable measure over VNC.

sub, I will send you an IM with a link to download from my redirect server

Update:

Sub,

I put the test client PC in stand-alone server mode and LiveTV work fine - no choppiness. Put the client PC back in client mode and choppiness returns.

I installed 404 on 2nd client and the same choppiness occurred when in client/server mode using the new TSReader.

I then disabled both the firewall on both server and client and disabled anti-virus - no change, choppiness persists.

The server is Windows7 based, the clients are Windows10,
using a wired gigabit ethernet connection,
happens with both HDHR Prime and HDHR Connect.

As it stands right now, NPVR in client mode is unwatchable due to the chopping of A/V.

Anyone else having issues with client server?

I run a server / client setup under Windows and am seeing no such issues with 4.04

What kind of network do you have?

Are you using SD's HDHomerun Prime or Connect?

ahhh, a wired gigabit Ethernet network everywhere in house. Running Windows 7 on server and Windows 10 on all clients.

Note: no issue when using legacy TSReader on client; no issue when npvr in server mode; and works fine with KODI client (17.3) - all on same network using same clients.
