The latest build seems to be more stable. Still seeing the jump back and get stuck trick. Video will be playing along just fine, jump back to an earlier time and act like that is the end of the video. (solved by closing the program and resuming) Ive noticed that happens most when there is a glitch in the recording. It still has ff problems, pops out of full screen or freezes if you use a mouse but it maximizes back to full screen much better. Most of my troubles happen when Im using my mouse and not the remote. Most of my other troubles with black screen are rare and I honestly think those are video card related as they got way better with the new nvidia driver released this past month. Seems like you are on the right track with that stuff

one question: the taskbar status icon used to be able to show settings, now clicking that crashes the service. Is anyone else having that problem?

I've not seen any other reports of this, and I can't seem to reproduce it here. What process is crashing? nrecord.exe? Do you get any error message either on the screen, or in nrecord.log?

I can confirm this occurs - leaves a crashed npvr exe which has to be killed in task Manager to get NPVR working again.
No error messages on screen or nrecord.log that I can see.
The other tray icon functions are ok.

So this is right clicking in the 'n' icon, and selecting Show Settings? Can you do this, then post your npvr.log?

His log didn't show this Show Settings, but rather the other issue he was asking about. He also said "crashes the service", which makes me think it's something different

Unfortunately there is no sign of errors in your log. Do you see the screen appear when you try, or nothing?

Do you get an error message in the Windows Event Viewer when this happens?

Ok when I click settings with the program closed my task bar flickers but no window opens up. At that point the program will not open either until the service is restarted. Im enclosing my logs.. the one with the unusual name is just from desktop after clicking on settings from the task bar. I restarted the service and opened the program, then clicked settings from the task bar, nothing happens.. it didnt seem to effect the program functionality. I closed and reopened it.. fine. Then I closed the program and called for settings and I am back to needing to restart the service because the program will no longer open up. I hope you can see what im talking about in my logs .. There is no windows service error.

It does it on either monitor.. I just tried the same on the main desktop no difference.

After fooling around a bit more I can tell you this only happens in full screen mode. If I am windowed mode the settings from the task bar icon works fine with the program on either monitor. I can replicate it in full screen mode but cannot in windowed mode.

... more info...

I can get it to do it in windowed mode but only if I change the UI resolution to the size of my monitor. So in a small windowed mode (auto) i cannot recreate the problem but whenever the program window is set to full screen or the windowed version is pulled to close to full screen.. or set at a ui resolution the size of my monitor I can recreate it. .. weird huh?

Confirmed - if NPVR is set to start in fullscreen mode and the tray icon settings option is selected the settings dialog does not appear.
This leaves an instance of NPVR running but nothing visible on screen so then have to kill nextpvr.exe in Task Manager.
I always start Fullscreen and don't use the settings from tray so just reporting as a minor issue.

Can you see of this helps with the Settings tray option when in fullscreen mode?
