After been offered possible solutions in my previous post to the issue of the not running NPVR web server i gave up trying to use its client functions.
Somehow i could not make clear to you what happens and the logs are inconclusive.
Essentially i have the same problem as described here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...8866/page4 a very long time ago.
And it has not been resolved yet...
A little hope came when i did a new windows install (windows 10 home/HDhomerun/npvr 3.8)
Unlike previous times when it only worked once just after a fresh install of NPVR until the next reboot, this time it was a little more persistent. it survived a number of reboots and actually worked for one whole day
But now it does not anymore... deinstalling, manually removing all references to npvr in the filesystem and registry all to no avail.. After reinstallation everyhing works except the webserver..
When i search for this issue it looks like it has been reported many times since version 2.2 but never has a solution been posted.
I guess there must be a serious design flaw in the npvr web server.. persisent over a number of windows and npvr versions.
?
When installing there usually is a message 'the service cannot be started' 'its already running' ? but no running service can be found. after a reboot it works, (with the limitations described above.)
I hope someone will finally find a solution, if found i am interested..
for now again i will give up the client mode.
