If I'm reading the log file correctly, it looks like mummy mysteries was using tuner 22, and then while that recording is happening, the epg update also (possibly?) uses tuner 22 to get OTA epg info. I'm curious if that mummy mysteries recording is really good (i.e. the entire show) or if it has problems about 10 minutes in (03:35 when the epg seems to be possibly using/accessing it).

Acutally, now that I'm looking at the ndigitalhost-22.log file, it appears that mummy mysteries begins recording from it:
Code:
2017-09-23 03:25:03.957    [INFO][267]    DigitalRecorder.StartStream() allocated handle: 0x1F
But then at 03:35 when the epg update uses the tuner, the mummy mysteries recording stops:
Code:
2017-09-23 03:35:08.688    [DEBUG][283]    Frequency has changed, so stopping recording from previous frequency. (Handle 31)

So I would expect that your mummy mysteries actual recording file would only be 10 minutes long.

you are correct there 10min and 5 seconds long, when i checked this morning the tray icon was still red and the status still showed the tuner as in use.

Have you only ever had it happen at a time it updates the EPG?

i'm not sure to be honest. i think on at least a few occasions it has coincided with the epg update. il keep a closer eye on it from now on and report back

I"m wondering if it is happening any time the tuner frequency changes before the end of a recording. So in this case when the EPG update takes the tuner. But would also happen with a back-to-back recording on a different frequency where the post-padding gets cut off because the actual start time for the next recording hits.

I wouldn't think so, but I've just kicked off some scheduled recordings to test this scenario.

I think I found the cause of this. I'm testing a fix.

This patch appears to fix the issue.

I have installed the patch, I'll report if the problem occurs again.
