Maybe this is something simple.

I've been having issues with the new 4.0.4 release with audio consistently going out of sync when watching recordings, (with legacy tsreader), so decided to downgrade to 3.9.2. But when I did so my Hauppauge USB DVB-T device seems to have stopped working. When recording or watching live TV I just get a blank screen, no video or audio. It's working fine in the Hauppauge WinTV software.

Logs attached. Ideas??
AMD A8-3870K 3.0GHz (onboard ATI HD6550 graphics), 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD + 2TB Hard drives, Hauppauge Colossus 2 (HDMI), Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S-Plus (DVB-S), Windows 10 64 bit, NPVR 6.1.5, MCE Remote/IR Blaster, IR Server Suite blasting to SKY TV (NZ) OnDemand set top box (Kaon NS1120).

There is no obvious sign of problems there, but it looks like it's not locking a signal.

If you do a scan, does it see the channels?

I wound up reinstalling 4.0.4 and everything came back. Haven't had a chance to test the audio sync issue yet.

Audio is still going out of sync consistently when watching recordings (including in-progress). Doesn't take long either. Watching 1min or so and it's already out, and gets progressively worse. A reverse skip fixes it, but only temporarily, it then drifts outs again. Another current issue (maybe related?), is that sometimes skips during playback will hang for 5-7secs, then recover. (Note again this is with the legacy tsreader).

I don't have access to logs now, but can post tonight.

Also, is there any trick to downgrading from 4.0.4 to 3.9.2? All I did previously was to run the install file, but it seemed the Settings -> General page still showed the version as 4.0.4. Tried it a couple of times but didn't seem to change. Also not keen on going back if the DVB-T tuner doesn't work either.

What decoders were you using?

I don't know - I've never downgraded. You might have uninstall, delete your c:\users\public\npvr directory, then reinstall the old version. There is no reason the tuner wouldn't work with 3.9.2 if it's worked for you in the past in that version.

I downgraded to 3.9.2 also. I ended up stopping the recording service, deleting all the files in programs/NPVR, and replacing with the 3.9.2 program files. There shouldn't be a tsreader.4, and all files should be 2016. Also, under setup, there should be no tickbox for legacy ts reader. The "about" will still say 4.0.4, though. I could not downgrade successfully by just running the 3.9.2 install file.

The decoders I've been using for the past X yrs are the Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 ones. Are there others that should work better that I could try?

I haven't used the Cyberlink ones, so I'm not sure, but I'd try some others (like LAV or Microsoft decoders).

OP has obviously had the same decoders throughout. Why are they suddenly the problem, after xxx years?

If he's using the 'legacy ts reader and demux' option, then it should be the same as it always has. If he's using the new ts reader, then it could certainly be different, since different components are not responsible for processing the audio video streams, and generating the timing etc - ideally the new components would work just as well as the old components, but if they're not, then I'd suggest trying other decoders for now while I work through it.
