Matt's method kept replying that a Microsoft license was required. Now, for some reason I cannot download the shows using the EPG. Originally, it did download the available programs with quite a few errors, but now, nothing. And even if it did work well, what good is an EPG that only looks 300 minutes beyond the scheduled download? Do I have to keep rescheduling a current download every 300 minutes? As Graham says, the broadcast EPG in North America is next to useless for PVR use. Nearly everyone in that part of the world is using Schedules Direct, which gives you multiple weeks of listings, with artwork etc. The rest of the world fares much better, where you often get a week or so of listings for free from the broadcast EPG.
Even though it only gives a few hours of listings, the OTA EPG is still useful to give you an idea what is possible with the application, so you can decide if it'd be worth paying for a Schedules Direct license.
Quote:This program needs a lot of work, and if the programmers decide to finish it (so anyone can use it) I would be happy to buy it. This is the reason it only generated $1600 in all of last year. I need a program that makes viewing live and recorded TV easy to use. I'm not looking for something awkward to use. It needs to have the same features that Windows Media Center (WMC) has. Then it would be a program that people would buy. And, I think there would be a market for it, especially since WMC is only available up to Windows 7.I appreciate your kind words
I'm happy to hear what work you think the application needs - I'm always looking to improve it. I can't provide you a free EPG, since this data is not freely available in North America.
