Question about VPN use

Hi all,

I've got NextPVR running on my main machine pulling in IPTV. I've got the NextPVR web server active and am accessing it from multiple Kodi NextPVR apps and sometimes through web browser.

Here's my question - If my main machine running the NextPVR server is behind a VPN, will the other devices accessing IPTV from the server (main machine) also be behind the VPN or are they just pulling the channel urls from the server and need to also have VPN running for privacy?

I had problems running a setup similar to yours when the machine running NextPVR was also running a VPN. For some reason the "client" apps (Kodi, browser etc) couldn't find the NextPVR machine on the local network (Ping wouldn't work) with the VPN running.

The only way around this I could find, was to set up the VPN in my router instead, then use policies to determine when the VPN route would be used.
