Deleting channels on client removes them on server. Should it?

I'm not sure if it is by design or not, but while playing around with an NPVR Windows client I thought I was tidying up but found to my cost that deleting channels that appear in the client, that it removed them from the server..... Thank heavens for twice-weekly-ish backups of the database.

Thanks for that and sorry to have asked the daft question! It''s just that I'd never noticed it before and couldn't recall seeing the channel list populated on a tuner-less client....
